150,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables exported last year

Texte:Egypt-based economic daily al-Alam el-Yom, chairman of the federation of agricultural exporters and producers, Usama Khair el Din, said that the international demand for Egyptian agricultural products sets forecasts at a two-fold rise in exports in the coming years. Egypt will take part in the the Mac Fruit Fair in Italy, which will be held between April 26 and 28. Egyptian exports to Italy stood at 2.18 billion euro in 2006, against 1.2 billion euro in 2005, or a 71% increase, according to a report elaborated by Egypt\’s trade office in Milan. The trade between the two countries reached 3.73 billion euro in 2006 compared to 1.66 billion euro a year earlier, or a rise by 40.2%.
